TheNightjar offers affordable, high quality handmade needle felt soft sculptures and clay ornaments. Here you will find only original and limited edition artwork made with love and care by hand.

My intent is to create heart felt artwork that is unique and personal. All items are made with love, care and attention to detail, by myself, Tarra Lyons.
I ship every day during holidays, sometimes twice a day or more. Orders are checked throughout the day.
Currently, USPS shipping delays can at times be a problem, of which I have no control. Order early if possible, and thank you for having patience in your heart.
I opened The Nightjar in 2008 as a way to make artwork that I could share and also for customers to collect my artwork in a more affordable way.
Soon after opening The Nightjar, we welcomed boy/girl twins, and life became hectic! Instead of keeping The Nightjar open, I reopened when my children grew up a bit…what I thought would be a temporary closure, became ten years!
I hope my needle felt bird and animal creations and polymer clay artwork I offer brings as much happiness, joy and connection as I had when I created them.
This body of artwork is my humble effort to ground our souls and calm our hearts and connect with the earth and our interconnected lives.
In hope for a renewed vision for our planet - we are all connected.

PS I will be taking part in an artists residency at Jen Tough Studios in Santa Fe New Mexico from May 25th-June 3. I wonder over the level of creative genius some folks possess and to the artist who created Peck, I tip my hat most humbly! This is one of the best purchases I've ever made. Can't find the words to explain it, but Peck answers a certain desire to hold a bit of nature inside our home and since we lost our beloved cat, well, the little shine in Peck's eyes reminds me of our JoJo. I certainly am grateful I found this shop at Christmastime. I can't enthuse enough and if you are on the fence about purchasing, well, I say JUMP! because you are going to be just as thrilled with the level of craftsmanship and care put into the creation of a very enchanting creature that you'll love and admire for decades! Gift wrapping and packaging
I would be happy to add any kind of gift wrapping for your purchase for a small fee. Let me know specific details about special messages or wrapping you would like to include, and consider it done.
Care instructions
Needle felted art works are made from wool, so when cleaning know that these items would shrink if soaked with water, please do not use water if you would like to maintain the look of your sculpture. When cleaning, use a very soft brush to gently clean away debris, also, any brush with hard bristles may change the shape of your sculpture.

Custom and personalized orders
I love to assist customers with personalizing or customizing their purchases. An added note, card or painted on message to a special person is not a problem at all. Reach out to let me know exactly the personalized message-glad to do it!.
Care instructions
Clay creations are made from polymer clay, much more durable than ceramic clay, tends to survive the occasional drop, but please do take care when handling. Ornaments are sprinkled with REAL glass glitter. From time to time a small edge may be slightly as with anything that may have points, please do not have children play with them.
